Monitoring Breeding Results

Your Role in Our Breeding Programme

When we decide to breed we know that the parents meet our Temperament, Health and Conformation standards. But only the puppies can confirm or deny this genetic potential. Did they get the best or worst of their parents? In what genetic proportion? How did they mature? Did they stay true to type? etc etc.

Feedback from our puppy buyers forms an essential loop back into our breeding programme and helps to assure future generations of Mishna puppies.

After you have taken your puppy home we would like you to keep in touch with us, and notify us particularly in the event of any health or development issues – incidental or chronic, changes in habit, worrying behaviours, difficulties with training etc, and most especially if surgery of any kind is recommended.

In return we offer support, education, advice, and community. We believe in building the Chowist community by providing occasional, informal opportunities for owners to meet like-minded people. In our experience, most Chow owners, like their dogs, are not naturally ‘joiners’ – at least here in the Cape! These are private functions, not ‘official’ outings. There are no obligations or membership dues or meetings or mandatory events.
